Sharon MacLeod named a Catalyst champion

Unilever’s Sharon MacLeod, VP personal care, North America, has been named a champion of women’s advancement by Catalyst.

The organization, dedicated to advancing women in business, honours MacLeod alongside Dean Johnson, president and CEO, Sodexo Canada, Ellen Moore, president and CEO of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, Zabeen Hirji, chief human resource officer at RBC and Howard Wetston, chair and CEO of the Ontario Securities Commission.

MacLeod was honoured for her work with Dove’s “Campaign for Real Beauty” and the “Self-Esteem Project,” as well as her work on diversity programs globally. She’s also an executive sponsor on Unilever’s Women’s Interactive Network, the local adoption of the company’s global plan to increase the number of women in senior ranks to 60% (representative of female university graduates entering the job market), which began in 2012.

Catalyst Canada Honours celebrates people in Canadian business who are committed to advancing women’s issues and serve as role models.
