One day, batteries will be a thing of the past, as will screams of frustration after noticing your phone’s little black bars have turned red, and your charger has gone MIA. But until that day, we must suffer.
The good news is we can suffer a little less when Ikea introduces a line of smart furniture that can charge a device upon touch. That’s right, the Swedish furniture retailer has announced that this Spring it plans to roll out a whole whack of lamps, tables and all sorts of home furnishings embedded with Qi wireless charging technology. The “charging pad” furniture will only arrive in Europe and North America in a few months, but we’re already clearing out our rooms to make way for their arrival.
