Dempster’s bread, Neutrogena, Febreze and Pampers were among the brands chosen by Canadians as the best new CPG products, according to BrandSpark’s annual survey.
The company’s Best New Products Awards, presented in Toronto last night, are derived from a survey of 65,000 Canadians and includes brands in food and beverage, health and beauty, household care and kids categories.
In the coffee category, McCafé coffee was voted best, while Post Foods’ Shreddies Morning Break was voted the best breakfast/morning food item. Kraft Shredded Cheese with a Touch of Philadelphia was voted the best cheese product.
In the health and beauty category, Poise Microliners were chosen as the best feminine care product, while Trojan Naked Sensations Ultimate Collection Condoms were also a top choice. Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive was voted the top new razor.
In household care, Febreze First Defense was named the best air freshener, while Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Cat Litter was voted the top kitty litter. In the kids’ products category, Pampers Swaddlers was selected as the best diaper, while that brand’s Sensitive Wipes were considered the best new baby wipes.

In its Canadian Shopper Study, released in January, BrandSpark’s research found that 78% of Canadians like trying new products, and 60% thought new products were better than old ones. Millennials had an especially strong interest in trying new products, with 85% showing interest in doing so, compared with 69% of seniors.
