1993 – Unforgiven took home Best Picture at the Oscars. Kim Campbell was (briefly) our PM. This writer started kindergarten.
If that sounds like a long time ago, it was. It also happened to be the last time that the Toronto Blue Jays made it to the World Series.
Now, with Canada behind the team once more, at least a few people online are hoping for another repeat from that year: the customized Coke jingle.
During the 1993 season, the brand created four versions of its then-jingle “Always Coca-Cola” with Jays-centric lyrics, including a version celebrating the team’s ultimate World Series win.

In 1994, Coke made the jingle part of the Jays’ games again by playing it over the Jumbotron at the SkyDome during the sixth inning and encouraging fans to sing along. The 1994 version was written by McCann-Erickson Advertising in Toronto.
We defy you to not have this song stuck in your head all day.
Here’s to hoping the team at Coca-Cola Canada feels like bringing back a classic – or that some other brands can come up with something equally catchy in 2015.
And, just because we feel like celebrating the ’90s Blue Jays today, check out this spot, too:
