Edelman Canada’s Lisa Kimmel has been named CEO of the agency, in addition to her current position as president.

In the new role, Kimmel will continue to lead the agency’s Canadian strategy development and execution, as well as drive new business nationally. Kimmel was promoted to president last year from general manager of Edelman’s Toronto office, a role she held for six years.

John Clinton, formerly CEO, will continue as Edelman’s North American head of creative and content, as well as Canadian chair.

Last year was a busy one for Edelman, as it has been shifting from being PR-centric to having a communications marketing approach. Among its key hires was former Cundari CCO Andrew Simon, who was tapped to lead creative nationally as its ECD.

In the past year, the shop has also added to its health and crisis practices’ executive teams, opened an Ottawa office and acquired Montreal-based boutique healthcare marketing company Sixdegrés.
