Reitmans names new CMO

Jonathan Levitt joins the company, which has also named a new president for its Reitmans banner.

20160413_C6166_PHOTO_EN_663934Reitmans Canada Ltd. has appointed a chief marketing officer and a new president for its Reitmans banner.

Jonathan Levitt (pictured), most recently head of research and development at Media Experts, has been named CMO, a new position at the retail company. Reitmans’ banners include Reitmans, Addition Elle, Penningtons, RW & Co., Thyme Maternity, Hyba and Smart Set.

Levitt has previously been CMO at Sonic Boom and OpinionLab. He has worked with brands including Walmart, American Eagle, William Sonoma and Google, according to Reitmans.

“In today’s omni-channel reality, it is of the utmost importance to gain a better understanding of our customers’ journey and how we at RCL can improve our customers’ experience through various processes and use of data,” Walter Lamothe, president of retail and COO at Reitmans said in a press release. “Jonathan will support the company’s commercial growth by making sure RCL has the right tools and the right strategies at the right time on the platforms our customers choose to interact with us.”

Meanwhile, Michael Strachan has been named president of the Reitmans banner, which has recently been on a path to modernizing its offering and its marketing.
