Senior changes at Edelman Canada

Edelman Canada has brought on three new senior vice-presidents.

Jennifer Meehan has joined the agency as SVP of consumer marketing strategy. Working out of the Toronto office, Meehan will be focused on building relationships with consumer-focused CMOs and driving new business growth for the agency. Meehan is returning to Edelman: she was SVP and national leader for its consumer marketing practice from 2007 until leaving for the managing director position at Sonic Boom in 2013. After leaving Sonic Boom, she joined Cohn and Wolfe as SVP of consumer marketing and digital, and she also has client-side experience as the director of marketing at MGM and Afexa Life Sciences.

In Montreal, Phil Gerard was hired as SVP of technology and digital operations to lead Edelman’s Digital Studio, having previously founded Montreal-based mobile development company OS Communications Informatiques. Also in Montreal, longtime National Public Relations partner Paul de la Plante joined the agency in February as SVP of its corporate practice.

Edelman Canada has also had a number of recent senior-level departures as it continues to “evolve and appropriately staff our communications marketing offering.” The agency could not comment on who those departures were, citing confidentiality issues, but said four senior-level employees had been impacted across its Canadian offices.
