Former Coca-Cola Canada marketer David Thomson has been named managing director at NFL Canada.
In the new role, he will be responsible for the NFL’s operations here, including fan development and engagement, sponsorship, consumer products, licensing and marketing. He will be based in Toronto and will report to Mark Waller, executive vice president of international at the NFL.
The NFL Canada office, which has six staff, has been managed by NFL International in New York for the past two years.
Thomson spent 15 years at Coca-Cola Canada, most recently as vice president of strategic marketing and investments. Prior to that, he was vice president of the Still Beverage Unit at the company for three years and held various other roles. Before joining Coca-Cola, he also held marketing roles at Molson and Clorox.
