J. Walter Thompson Canada has looked within to find its new creative leadership, promoting creative directors David Federico and Josh Budd to the roles of co-CCOs in Toronto.
Federico and Budd both joined JWT in early 2016 from Leo Burnett, where they co-led the agency’s TD business. Since coming to JWT, the pair have helped create work for clients including Air Canada, Hotels.com and Kids Help Phone.
In their new roles, the pair will take a greater role in shaping the agency’s creative department and leading creative efforts for its full client list, which also includes Tim Hortons, Walmart, Mazda, Splenda and Johnson & Johnson.
“Dave and Josh will be the first duo leading our creative department, which comes with a built-in emphasis on collaboration,” said Susan Kim-Kirkland, president and CEO of J. Walter Thompson Canada. “They’ve already begun to set their course with a keen focus on our clients’ business and quality of our work.”
The pair also fill a gap left when the agency’s previous CCO in Toronto Ryan Spelliscy left the agency at the end of September.
Today, it was also announced that two other JWT creative directors, Glen D’Souza and Mike Takasaki, had joined KBS Canada as its newest ECDs.
