Agency of the Year 2017: The smarts behind Silver

Every shop likes to chase after big ideas, but this year’s Silver Agency of the Year winners all managed to build internal processes and philosophies around getting the most out of them.

J. Walter Thompson used its strategy to mobilize consumers around powerful ideas to move back onto the podium for its second Silver Agency of the Year award.

Design has always played an important role at Rethink, but being focused on how that design works on social channels is what earned it a Silver in the first Design Agency of the Year competition.

Bimm, meanwhile, was recognized for the first time at Agency of the Year, winning the Silver in Digital for taking its expertise in direct and a new business unit to find outside-the-box digital solutions for its clients.

OMD, this year’s Silver winner in Media, has embraced the push into having more high-level conversations with its clients that take its data-driven approach into areas beyond media.

And in PR, Citizen Relations offshoot The Colony Project turned its “scrappy mandate” into work that looked outside of what tends to be considered traditional PR tactics.

Check back tomorrow for insights from this year’s Gold winners and, in case you missed it yesterday, be sure to read up on the success stories from this year’s Bronze winners.
