O’Toole will help the brand execute its “Reclaim the Flame” strategy, a $400 million USD growth plan that was endorsed by more than 93% of its franchisees.
“Pat joins us at a milestone moment for the brand, and brings the right combination of perspective, experience and expertise to position BK for success in 2023 and beyond,” said Tom Curtis, president of Burger King North America. “We have an incredible plan that has been built with and endorsed by our Franchisees. Pat is joining this team to strengthen and build on our existing plans in collaboration with our franchisees, leveraging his impressive background and past experiences.”
O’Toole joins the QSR’s marketing team from PepsiCo, where he has spent the past 14 years – including, most recently, as CMO of the CPG giant’s Mountain Dew brand. He has also held roles at General Electric and Black and Decker.
Burger King moved to a North America-wide CMO role in 2020 when it hired Ellie Doty, who left the role roughly one year ago.
