Isao Kobayashi takes over as Canon president and CEO

Canon Canada has announced Isao “Sammy” Kobayashi as its president and CEO.

Kobayashi has been with the company since 1990, originally beginning in its sales division, and eventually progressing to VP and leadership roles.

Kobayashi replaces Nobuhiko Kitajima, who is retiring after 42 years with the global Canon organization.

 

Phil Cox returns to Canada as Coca-Cola’s general manager

Phil Cox has been named general manager for the Coca-Cola Company.

He first joined the company in 1996 as a delivery truck driver in Vancouver, and escalated to a managerial role in 2000. Since then, Cox has served as VP sales and VP digital commerce and customer capability, and was most recently working with the company in the United States.

He’ll return to Canada to assume his newest role.

 

Impossible Foods creates chief demand officer role

Plant-based meat company Impossible Foods has hired Sherene Jagla as its first chief demand officer.

In her new role, Jagla will integrate the company’s product development, insights, marketing and sales teams to further develop growth and scale.

Jagla previously acted as SVP and general manager at Newell Brands, and led sales at Kellogg’s.

 

Fire & Flower’s interim CFO now permanent

Cannabis retail and technology platform Fire & Flower has announced that John Chou will be its new CFO. Chou had previously been acting as its interim CFO since November 2022.

Prior to this role, Chou was CFO of the Flowr Corporation and Terrace Global, VP finance of Gran Colombia Gold Corporation and Frontera Energy Corporation.
