Toronto retail branding and creative shop Rodmell & Company has appointed grocery veteran Uwe Stueckmann to its advisory board.
Stueckmann was most recently EVP and chief customer officer at Loblaw, where he supervised one of the country’s largest marketing budgets and most successful brand portfolios, supporting Loblaw’s multiple banners and brands. In addition, Stueckmann also helped establish and lead the Loblaw Media division. He left the company early last year.
As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to elevate value to its clients and broaden its capabilities, Rodmell has engaged Stueckmann as an exclusive agency resource.
Company president Patrick Rodmell tells strategy a key area of Stueckmann’s focus will be supporting Rodmell’s growth plans. These are categorized in two ways: supporting existing clients with perspective and insights within his core areas of expertise like marketing, branding, store design, private label, digital and loyalty; and new client acquisitions with Canadian and U.S. retailers in targeted industries.
According to Rodmell, its clients have relied on its integrated service model, encompassing comprehensive strategic and creative support. The agency’s current client roster features a diverse range of retailers, including Metro, Food Basics, Hertz, Canadian Tire, London Drugs and Purolator Canada. Its work also stretches across borders, having recently added Oasis Fresh Markets in Tulsa, Oklahoma to its roster. It also helped Highland Farms stores relaunch as Coppa’s Fresh Market.
However, Rodmell says that Stueckmann’s expertise spans all key verticals of its business, as he’s “seen and done it all.” Stueckmann is also advisor to digital consultancy McKinsey on retail media, retail marketing and loyalty programs.
