Andrew Lo to lead Knowledge First Financial

Knowledge First Financial has appointed Andrew Lo as its president and CEO.

Lo brings over 30 years of experience in digital and financial roles, notably, acting as president of a division of Financeit, and president and CEO at RatesDotCa Group.

With prior experience as a CEO, COO, CIO, CTO and CMO, Lo will use his vast knowledge and leadership skills to expand the organization’s digitally-enabled products and services.

 

Amex appoints president and CEO

Brett Mooney is stepping into the role of Amex’s president and CEO.

Mooney will lead the Canadian executive team while also directly managing the company’s consumer, commercial and corporate businesses across marketing, acquisition, product development and insurance.

Previously, he spent 13 years at American Express at a variety of Canadian and international roles across lending, digital strategy and consumer acquisition. Mooney was also SVP and head of retail cards and unsecured lending at Scotiabank, and most recently, was regional president and CEO Canada, Trindad and Tobago for TransUnion.

 

National Bank Financial shuffles senior staff

Martin Gagnon, EVP wealth management, co-president and co-CEO of National Bank Financial has announced that he’ll retire as of April 1,2023.

Once he departs, Denis Girouard will step into his place until a permanent successor is appointed. Girouard is currently the institution’s EVP and co-head of financial markets and has been with National Bank Financial for 33 years.

As such, Etienne Dubuc has been appointed sole head of the financial markets group. Dubuc joined the senior leadership team in 2022.

 

Herjit Bhalla takes over as Hershey’s VP of Canada

Earlier this month, the Hershey Company appointed Herjit Bhalla as VP of Canada.

Bhalla will continue to lead Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, a role he’s held since 2021, where he has been credited with sharpening strategic focus and building strong organizational capability to deliver profitable growth with competitive share gains.

Bhalla will report to Rohit Grover, president international.
