Cineplex marketing exec leaves amid organizational restructuring
After nearly six years with the company, Greg Ambrose has left his role as VP of consumer marketing at Cineplex.
Ambrose joined the theatre operator in 2017 as VP of loyalty, insights and guest experience in 2017 before being named to his most recent role in 2020. Prior to that, he held senior roles at Jackman and Tim Hortons.
Last week, Cineplex said in a statement that it would be laying off 30 employees as part of plans to “flatten [its] organizational structure” and “align the business to match [its] financial position.”

1Milk2Sugars scores Chatters account
Salon chain Chatters has named 1Milk2Sugars as its AOR for PR and influencer relations. The agency won the duties following an RFP process.
The company boasts more than 500 stylists and 115 locations from coast to coast. Chatters oversaw a 2022 Canada-wide expansion and the opening of its Brampton flagship location complete with a product testing bar, a genderless service menu and private salon stations.
Pigeon briefs students on IKEA marketing contest
On Feb. 13, Pigeon brought 60 Humber College students together to brief them on a creative competition, with the task of pitching campaign concepts to IKEA and Pigeon that will inspire consumers to shop at the retailer. Professors will judge the first round of presentations, which will be shortlisted for a pitch to Pigeon and IKEA on March 23. Winners will receive a cash and may have the opportunity to have their concept executed.
