Saatchi & Saatchi Canada has added to its creative leadership by hiring Mike DeCandido as VP and creative director.
A copywriter by trade, DeCandido will be partnering with fellow VP and CD Craig Brandon (an art director) to lead the creative work on key accounts such as Toyota Canada, Mondelez and Haleon.
The move comes on the heels of hiring Rob Gendron as Saatchi & Saatchi Canada’s new creative lead in place of outgoing longtime ECD, Brian Sheppard. DeCandido is, in part, taking a role that was vacated after Gendron’s promotion.
Stuart Payne, president of Saatchi & Saatchi Canada, says De Candido has an impressive background and track record of award-winning work. DeCandido has spent the last few years as a successful freelance writer, working on campaigns and content for brands such as Google, YouTube and Bombardier. He has also worked at agencies including Anomaly, JWT and Cossette, where he was the shop’s national creative lead for McCafé.
