SAAQ turns a coaster into a bus pass

The Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec is making it as easy as possible for the province’s bar patrons to get home safe.

For this year’s summer impaired driving campaign, SAAQ and longtime SAAQ agency partner LG2 created a coaster embedded with a chip that effectively turns it into a transit pass. After leaving the bar, patrons can take the coaster with them and use it to tap on to their local bus for a safe trip home.

The coasters have been distributed to bars and restaurants in Quebec, alongside a digital OOH campaign in restobar networks and other public spaces that encourages other options after drinking, such as crashing on a friend’s coach or calling a cab. A second part of the campaign running in other digital OOH channels takes a similar approach to cannabis, with ads for both alcohol and cannabis also running in radio.
