Swiss Chalet brings nuggets and strips to retail

Swiss Chalet is giving Canadian consumers something new to dip in their made-at-home Chalet sauce.

The casual dining brand is rolling out a line of frozen chicken nuggets and strips, launching the innovations in Metro, Sobeys, Foodland and Calgary Coop. The move is the latest retail effort from the brand, which already has chicken pot pie, chicken noodle soup, ribs, and various sauces and marinades in the market.

“After 70 years of mastering our craft at Swiss Chalet, we pride ourselves on being the Canadian chicken experts,” says Franco Tascione, chief operating officer for the brand. “We’re excited to bring these products to retail.”

The nuggets and strips are “made with real ingredients,” he adds, including white meat and Swiss Chalet’s signature blend of spices, making them “exactly what Canadians expect from a brand they have trusted for decades.”

As with its other retail products, the restaurant is hoping to appeal to a broader base of customers with this launch, including families that might not have the chance to regularly dine at its restaurants.

“Our chicken nuggets and strips are best paired with loved ones, already proving to be a hit amongst little ones and busy families,” explains Beatrice Robertson, senior director of marketing for the brand. “We strive to be the most loved family restaurant in Canada, and it’s products like these that really resonate.”

Swiss Chalet is not the only Recipe Unlimited brand to expand its retail offering. Earlier this year, The Keg brought one of its signature desserts and its Caesar to store shelves.
