Halo Top has a new president of its Canadian operations
Anne-Marie Docherty is the frozen dessert brand’s Canadian president, as of October 2.
Previously, Docherty was managing director of Halo Top’s Canadian operations and is now leading the company’s growth agenda in Canada.
Prior to launching her boutique CPG consultancy in 2019, Docherty spent 17 years at PepsiCo, most recently as a director, PepsiCo Foods and Beverages.
Halo Top Creamery hit frozen food aisles north of the border in 2018, launching an exclusively Canadian flavour lineup in 2020.
Laura Penso resigns from Sleep Country Canada
Sleep Country Canada’s VP of marketing is stepping aside, “officially hitting the reset button,” as per a LinkedIn post. Penso joined the retailer in 2019, and was previously principal of Leap Brand Consulting. Prior to that role, she spent six years as VP of marketing for Red Apple Stores.
Sleep Country’s PR team did not respond to strategy‘s request for further details.
Sheridan College names a new lead marketer
Nicolle Wahl will be joining Sheridan College in November as the school’s chief communications and marketing officer. In this role, Wahl be leading the communications, public affairs and marketing functions across the college’s three campuses in Oakville, Brampton and Mississauga.
Previously, Wahl was director of marketing and communications at University of Toronto Mississauga campus, a role she held since 2018. She was also assistant director of digital communications, and provided campus-wide leadership in web strategy and content management, publications, social media strategy and other digital initiatives.
