Rethink leads the class at ADCC Awards

Rethink has scored a hat trick with the Advertising and Design Club of Canada, picking up its Agency of the Year award for the third straight year.

The award – known formally as a Scarlet Letter – is one of two that the independent agency collected at a gala in Toronto on Nov. 9, as it also claimed the program’s Interactive Agency of the Year prize.

The awards are determined using a point system that weighs and measures the number of Gold, Silver, and merits each agency earns in a given year, with Rethink having laid claim to 15 of the 46 Golds awarded on the night, for work with Kraft Heinz, IKEA and the Association of Registered Graphic Designers.

Among the other Scarlet Letter recipients are LG2, which won Design Agency of the Year; Caserne, which claimed Design Studio of the Year; and OPC, which was named Production Company of the Year.

Louis Gagnon, co-founder and VP of creation at Paprika, was presented the Les Usherward Award – the ADCC’s lifetime achievement award. Hayley Lim, a designer at Baillat Studio in Montreal, received a Rising Star award in design, while Olga Netaeva, art director at BBDO in Toronto, won the prize in advertising.

Other key winners included Angry Butterfly, Dentsu Canada and Leo Burnett Toronto, the three of which won three Gold awards. BBDO Canada, OPC, Paprika and Sid Lee each claimed a pair of Gold awards.

The full list of winners can be viewed on the ADCC’s website.
