Balmoral names luminaries to its advisory board

As Balmoral Multicultural Marketing, Canada’s largest and longest-running multicultural marketing firm, prepares to celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2024, the agency has added three industry stalwarts to its advisory board in Alan Middleton, Mike Lang and Bob Richardson.

Middleton (pictured, left) is an author, speaker, consultant and Marketing Hall of Legends inductee. He is the former executive director and distinguished adjunct professor of marketing at the Schulich Executive Education Centre, as well as a past president/CEO of JWT Japan, and a former board director of JWT Worldwide.

Lang (pictured, right) is a global brand marketing and sales executive who’s known as a “strategy artist,” as well as a partnerships and sponsorships guru. He previously worked as COO for Y&R (WPP group) and Pareto (shopper marketing agency), and as a current operating partner for Polar Capital, Lang Partnerships and Invatron Systems.

Richardson (pictured, below left) is an industry-leading authority on strategic public affairs, a senior counsel to National PR and principal consultant at Hammersmith Consulting, and a former senior executive for
Edelman Canada, Ipsos Reid and Angus Reid Group.

“With diversity, equity and inclusion reaching critical mass over the last few years, multicultural marketing as a discipline is maturing, evolving and reaching new heights today,” says Sharifa Khan, founder and CEO of Balmoral Multicultural Marketing (pictured, top). “Having these legendary leaders’ support, advice and mentorship as our agency experiences unprecedented growth, is of immeasurable value for our senior leadership team.”

According to the latest data from Statistics Canada, by 2041, it is projected that 52% of Canada’s population will be comprised of immigrants or immigrant children. In this context, cultural nuances will continue to command an increasingly critical role in large scale marketing efforts.
