Harbinger president Deborah Adams to retire

Harbinger is undergoing a major change at the top, as president Deborah Adams will retire from the agency at the end of the year, the agency announced this week.

Adams joined Harbinger in 1992 and was named president in 2020. Prior to taking over the role from Jeff Weiss, she served as SVP and managing director.

Her tenure as president included contributions to high-profile clients such as Kraft, Unilever, Whirlpool and Effem Foods. Her work for Unilever included contributing to Hellman’s and the launch of Dove’s “Campaign for Real Beauty.”

“Deborah has set a model for professional excellence and an example for all of us in the industry for how to treat others as individuals,” Harbinger CEO Jeff Weiss said in a news release announcing Adams’ retirement. “She has transformed the lives and careers of countless individuals who have had the pleasure and good fortune of working with her.”

Adams will retire at the end of December. Harbinger’s new president and leadership team will be announced in early 2024, the agency says.
