In the realm of the independent agency, relationships form the fertile ground in which creativity can flourish. Indies have to be able to find innovative ways to tackle every challenge and come up with the less obvious solution.
As one of our interviewees described it this year, doing it the ‘boring’ way is not only creatively bankrupt, it’s an unaffordable indulgence, a waste of resources that can cost a brand. Indies need to consistently find innovative ways to make a brand stand out, to rise above the commonplace and fiercely oppose the status quo.
How they interpret that remit is as individual as the agency themselves. Some push the boundaries creatively, some logistically, some by coming up with technology and processes that will soon shift industry norms.
