Angry Butterfly is upstaffing and naming three key promotions, bringing its total staff to 45.
Karen Hyman has joined to lead the Porsche Canada business, which Angry Butterfly secured last fall as the luxury car brand’s new agency of record handling English and French communications in Canada. Hyman previously spent six years as general manager at Spark 44, the Accenture agency created to service the Land Rover business, and before that, was VP at WPP marketing and comms shop, Young and Rubicam for four years.
“We couldn’t be more fortunate to have [Hyman] join our team,” says Graham Candy, partner and CSO. “Her years of luxury automotive experience combined with an innate ability to connect and bring teams together is a perfect fit for Angry Butterfly.”
The year is off to a busy start for this three-year old agency with several large-scale productions, as well as onboarding new business.
In addition to Hyman, Angry Butterfly has also added strategist Roman Sidorov, art director Ben LeDrew, copywriter Lorn Williams and motion designer Hayley Walsh. Bernice (Bee) Lo and Adam Notzl-Keyser, who joined the agency as VP, creative directors a year ago, have been promoted to executive creative directors.
As Angry Butterfly’s capabilities continue to expand, the shop’s media business has also continued along the same trajectory. As a result, Shubham Vijan has been promoted to media director.
Angry Butterfly’s clients include Gibson’s finest whisky, Dairy Farmers of Canada, Co-operators Investments and Insurance, and the Jays Care Foundation, a charity that promotes baseball as a tool to teach children essential skills like teamwork, leadership and resiliency.
