Edelman Canada dials up Samsung’s PR AOR business

Communications firm Edelman Canada has been appointed the agency of record for Samsung Canada.

As AOR for the tech giant, Edelman Canada will provide comprehensive support to Samsung Canada across a range of expertise, including consumer, corporate and internal communications. The collaboration will focus on developing creative communications strategies leveraging data and insights, event support, corporate marketing, and product launches.

“Edelman has a long history of developing award-winning communications strategies for clients across multiple sectors,” says Alex Thomas, Sr. manager corporate, communications and citizenship for Samsung Canada. “We’re empowered by the creativity, expertise and knowledge that will help Samsung continue to connect with Canadians, driving relevance with our core audiences through inspiring stories that highlight our mission and values, and showcasing how our technologies enhance consumers’ everyday lives.”

The announcement of this partnership highlights both organizations’ promise to deliver creative communication strategies and build trust with Samsung’s various stakeholders including consumers, carriers and retailers, employees, and local communities across the country. Samsung is one of Edelman’s largest global clients, with Canada being the newest market for the relationship.

“We could not be more excited to partner with Samsung, adding to a growing list of markets we support their brand across the globe,” says Michael Thomson, EVP, technology sector lead at Edelman Canada. “The sky is the limit in terms of the opportunity for Samsung in Canada and we’re excited to help take the brand to the next level.”

Edelman tells strategy it will upstaff to handle the account win.

Samsung is the latest win for Edelman after it recently secured the AOR remit for The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (CARAS), the not-for-profit organization that hosts the Juno Awards, and oversees the music education charity MusiCounts and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

The PR shop recently supported an Advil campaign to prevent gamers from getting headaches, and Intuit QuickBooks’ launch of its global brand platform, ‘Business Differently.’
