Six in 10 marketing and creative hiring managers are looking to fill new permanent roles in the first half of 2024.
This is one of the insights from Robert Half’s “Demand for Skilled Talent Report,” which includes an analysis of 18,000 job postings from the marketing and creative space, from independent job boards and websites and Robert Half placements.
The report shows that 60% of hiring managers in the marketing and creative field are hiring for new permanent roles in the first half of 2024, while 38% are hiring for vacated permanent roles. The Robert Half data also shows that 72% of of marketing and creative managers plan to hire more contract professionals in the first half of 2024.
However, finding people to fill these roles can be an issue, with 91% of marketing and creative hiring managers facing challenges finding skilled talent.
The graph below reveals positions that are in the top 10% of in-demand roles in the sector.
Nearly seven in 10 (67%) marketing and creative employees are interested in pursuing a new role, primarily for a higher salary (53%), and better benefits and perks (51%).
The Robert Half talent report also reveals that 41% of marketers and creatives are planning to look for a new job in 2024, while 26% are currently looking for a new job. One third of marketers and creatives are not considering a job search.
Marketing and creative teams will be focused on filling their ranks in the following positions, according to the survey: website and mobile app redesign, digital marketing, AI and machine learning, marketing automation, and company rebranding.
