Molson Coors marketer to lead MLS club’s marketing

Longtime CPG veteran Joy Ghosh is joining the Vancouver Whitecaps FC as the MLS club’s VP and head of Marketing.

In a LinkedIn post, Ghosh said the Whitecaps are seeing record ticket sales, a growing fan base and a winning team, and that he is excited to contribute to its continued success and momentum and bringing his passion for brand marketing to generate long term fan growth and “elevate the creative firepower” of the club.

Ghosh has spent nearly eight years working at Molson Coors in both Toronto and Chicago. He most recently worked as the brewer’s VP of marketing, leading brand marketing for its above premium flavor portfolio across North America, including Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, Topo Chico Spirited, Vizzy Hard Seltzer, Arnold Palmer Spiked and Simply Spiked.

CG Wealth Management names new VP of marketing

Madisyn McKee is starting a new position as vice president of marketing for the investment management firm CG Wealth Management, Canada.

In the role, McKee will manage brand, design, internal communications and advisor marketing functions.

McKee is a former manager of organic and paid social media marketing for insurance brand Canada Life, and has taught influencer and social marketing at both OCAD and Conestoga College.

Gallagher promotes marketer

Janet Kelly is starting a new position as senior manager of brand marketing and communications with global insurer and risk management consultancy Gallagher, based out of Toronto.

Recently as manager of brand marketing and communications, Kelly led Gallagher’s Canadian social media strategy, managed website changes, planned and executed events, and contributed to sponsorships and partnerships.

SiriusXM promotes senior marketer

Amgad Labib is starting a new position as senior director of marketing operations at SiriusXM Canada. Labib formerly worked as the broadcaster’s director of marketing operations.

Before joining SiriusXM, Labis was the manager of commercial intelligence for the marketer of beer, wine, and spirits, Constellation Brands.

Roots names new director, comms and social

Nicole Legate is starting a new position as director of PR and social at Roots.
Legate has held account director roles with Narrative PR, Forsman & Bodenfors Canada, and Veritas. Prior to that, she also worked as director of client services for Harbinger.
In November, the Canadian lifestyle brand appointed former Unilever executive Leslie Golts as its new chief marketing officer.
