Wine Marketing Association of Ontario brings former J. Walter Thompson CCO aboard
The Wine Marketing Association of Ontario (WMAO) has appointed Dean Foerter as its executive director. He brings nearly 25 years of experience in brand building, advertising, marketing, market research and new product development, with significant expertise in the wine category.
Prior to joining WMAO, Foerter served as chief strategy officer at J. Walter Thompson, for both the Toronto and Chicago offices, and was an instructor at McMaster’s DeGroote School of Business. He also previously worked as CMO for the iBlüm Learning Company.
The WMAO is dedicated to promoting the VQA wines of Ontario.
Sid Lee VP of global communication and brand departs
Sid Lee’s vice president of global communication and brand, Katia Aubin, is leaving the shop.
Spending more than six years at Sid Lee, Aubin was hired as global head of PR before later being promoted to VP of global communication and brand.
Before joining Sid Lee in 2018, Aubin founded Collective Pivot. She is also a former communications and PR manager for RDS.
CG Wealth Management names director of advisor marketing
Haley MacCosham has been promoted to become CG Wealth Management Canada’s new director of advisor marketing.
Tasked with heading marketing strategy and initiatives for all CG wealth advisors across Canada, with an emphasis on marketing technology stack, media relations, website development, content creation, SEO/SEM, paid campaigns, lead generation, events and relationship management.
Previously, MacCosham worked as manager of advisor marketing in Western Canada for CG Wealth Management after first joining the company in 2021. She also previously worked in business development for Covista Capital and in digital marketing for Blue Ruby Jewellery.
PepsiCo promotes a CPG vet for Gatorade
Matei Birladeanu is starting a new position as marketing manager for PepsiCo beverage brand, Gatorade.
Before joining PepsiCo in 2023 as an associate shopper marketing manager, Birladeanu worked as brand manager for Campbell’s Goldfish, and as a brand leader with Mars.
Mazda Canada promotes veteran marketer
Katie Hagerty is being promoted to marketing manager at Mazda Canada.
Hagerty, a 12-year veteran, was most recently the automaker’s senior specialist of brand marketing. Her duties included brand activation, lead generation, CRM, campaign execution, team leadership and event marketing. Hagerty previously worked as sales and marketing coordinator for Suzuki Canada.
