Balmoral Multicultural Marketing has found a new avenue to help answer a growing industry need for organizations to improve their DEI efforts with the launch of a new podcast.
The agency debuted The Multicultural Marketing Podcast this week, which it says is designed to build “bridges of understanding” between mainstream marketers and diverse communities. Sharifa Khan, Balmoral’s founder and CEO, says the podcast is meant to offer cultural insights for marketers who want to be more inclusive in their work.
“Our intention with The Multicultural Marketing Podcast is to create a thought leadership hub, filled with insight-sharing, examples of best-in-class multicultural creativity, and inspiration that can propel Canadian marketers to push new boundaries in this fast-growing discipline,” Khan said in a release announcing the podcast.
“Let’s continue to build those bridges of understanding between Canada’s diverse communities and companies wanting to capture new business from the expanding, increasingly influential ethnic market.”
The idea for the podcast came as Balmoral noticed Canadian marketers becoming increasingly interested in improving their DEI efforts, while recognizing the importance of authentically integrating multicultural marketing into their programming.
New episodes of the podcast, hosted by Khan, will be released monthly on major podcast platforms. The debut episode features a guest host, Keka DasGupta, interviewing Khan about her own journey in pushing Canada’s multicultural marketing efforts forward.
Future podcast guests will include Marketing Hall of Legends inductee Alan C. Middleton, and Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation director of social responsibility Aaron GlynWilliams.
“As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we wanted to create a platform where top marketers could share their authentic, personal stories of relationship-building with Canada’s ethnic groups,” Khan says.
