Industry Moves: Roots names global brand marketing manager

Roots hires senior marketer

Terrence Freeman has started a new role as manager of global brand marketing for the lifestyle clothing company Roots.

Freeman recently worked as media and marketing manager for H&M North America, spending more than five years working for the fast fashion clothing brand. Prior to his stint at H&M, Freeman spent three years working for the grocer Metro as a brand marketing specialist.

Roots’ new hire follows its appointment of former Unilever executive Leslie Golts as its chief marketing officer, last fall.

Kraft Heinz CPG vet relaunches consultancy

Richard Behrman is relaunching his consulting business after five years with Kraft Heinz, where he most recently worked as its Canada team lead in omni channel, trade marketing and partnerships.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the move, Behrman says he’s taking on project-based work while looking to find four to five clients in search of ongoing support.

Before joining Kraft Heinz, the 15-year marketing vet has also worked agency side as a shopper marketing account director at Behaviour. Behrman also worked for Campbell’s for more than two years as shopper marketing and ecommerce director, founding the CPG’s first ecomms team, and as P&G’s shopper marketing manager for Loblaw and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Senior VP leaves Proof

Liz Carson is moving on from Proof Strategies after a lengthy tenure.

The 25-year public relations veteran was most recently the indie PR and marketing shop’s senior vice president of client relationships, a post she held for six and a half years.

Prior to this role, Carson was Proof’s senior vice president and practice leader for its consumer business. Carson also previously served as director for Toronto- and Ottawa-based integrated comms agency, Thornley Fallis.
