Edo Japan has new senior marketer
Cat Chen (pictured right) is starting a new position as director of regional marketing at Edo Japan.
Before signing on with the Calgary-headquartered chain, Chen led marketing for four of MTY Group’s QSR brands: Cultures, Villa Madina, Mr. Souvlaki and Vanellis.
Last spring, Edo Japan unveiled a new brand platform to spur its ambitions to expand.
It currently operates approximately 200 locations.
Veteran journalist to lead comms for Hamilton research hospital
St Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has appointed Globe & Mail vet Carly Weeks as its new vice president of communications, public affairs and stakeholder relations.
Weeks comes to the research and teaching hospital after a lengthy career as a national health reporter at The Globe and a journalism career spanning two decades.
SJHH is a member of the St. Joseph’s Health System (SJHS), and is affiliated with McMaster University and Mohawk College.
Indigo promotes within its marketing team
Madison Downey is starting a new position as manager of public relations and influencer marketing at Indigo. She most recently worked as the book and lifestyle retailer’s PR and influencer marketing specialist.
Before joining Indigo in 2019, Downey worked agency side as an account executive with Citizen PR.
CBC adds a partnership marketer
David Coyle-Mallocci is starting a new role as CBC/Radio-Canada’s associate manager of partnership marketing – CBC sports & Olympics.
He formerly worked as a marketing analyst, lifestyle benefits and partnerships, with American Express Canada.
Loopio promotes marketing director
Katie Flood is starting a new position as director of brand and communications at Toronto software company Loopio. Flood most recently worked as senior manager of content marketing for the brand.
Before joining Loopio in 2020, Flood was a marketing and communications strategist for Toronto’s Seneca College. Agency-side, she’s worked for Tag and Duet PR.
Sanofi Canada brings aboard brand manager
Danielle Charters is starting a new position as brand manager with Sanofi Canada.
Charters was most recently an assistant director of marketing at Ontario’s Deerhurst Resort, which was a role she held for nearly three years.
Before joining the local vacation hotspot, Charters was brand manager for Muskoka Brewery, beginning her marketing career with the beer maker in 2016.
