Peter Shier, the former president of Naked Creative Consultancy, has joined the brand and business consultancy, Blackjet to lead client growth.
Naked, which is best known for its work with The Globe and Mail and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, has also merged the majority of its team with Blackjet, in a move to add depth and experienced talent to Blackjet’s roster.
“[Shier] is a legend in the Canadian ad scene,” says Blackjet CEO Rob Galletta. “He’s run a successful agency for over 15 years, he’s been the Chair of the ICA, vice chairman of FCB Canada and played pro hockey prior to that.”
Blackjet has also added talent to its strategy team by hiring David Kenyon as its new VP of strategy. Kenyon, Naked’s director of strategy, previously served seven years as vice president, creative group head for FCB Canada.
Blackjet has also staffed up its accounts team with account director Dwiti Kacharia, who previously worked for Trevor//Peter and Balmoral Multicultural Marketing, and its creative team with art directors Kereesa Wright and Spencer Van Woudenberg, as well as designers Eric Cruz and Apoorva Chugh.
These additions to the team increase Blackjet’s headcount to 45 full-time staff.
“Adding such a talented group helps us with our mission in becoming a powerhouse of insight-led creativity and world-class design,” Galletta says.
