Klick adds to its senior leadership

Tim Kavander (pictured above) is joining Klick’s Toronto office as SVP and executive creative director, bringing more than 25 years of experience working with accounts like BMO, Home Depot, Jeep, Mercedes and Rogers.

Kavandar previously served as group creative director at No Fixed Address, handling the shop’s flagship Questrade account. He also spent more than a decade at Publicis as EVP and creative director, and helped establish and grow Arnold Worldwide’s Toronto office.

Kavander’s work has earned numerous industry accolades including Cannes Lions, Clios, CMA Awards and The One Show.

TBWA\Media Arts Lab promotes two ACDs to CDs

Derek Silveira (pictured above left) and Jason Lee (pictured above right) are starting new positions as creative directors at TBWA\Media Arts Lab, the six-office, five country-spanning bespoke agency for Apple.

The creative duo teamed up at Zulu Alpha Kilo to handle creative duties for Subaru, before moving to Juniper Park\TBWA to work on Nissan, GoDaddy and Apple accounts in 2022. They’ve worked as ACDs with TBWA\Media Arts Lab since fall 2023. In their new role, they’ll report to Miami-based regional executive creative director Pedro Prado, who’s responsible for the agency’s work in Canada, LATAM and U.S. Hispanic.

Ascendis names top marketer

Vyara Ndejuru has joined Ascendis, the Montreal and Toronto full-service strategy, design and technology firm, as VP of marketing and eCommerce practice lead.

Ndejuru previously worked as head of brand and digital experience for software firm, ServiceNow’s Element AI. She also held the role of general manager and senior director of global brand strategy and development for Aldo Group.

Ascendis has worked with Lee Valley Tools to enhance its ecommunications and customer services, redefined Cadillac Fairview’s digital community, and gave DavidsTea a comprehensive digital and omnichannel overhaul.

PepsiCo promotes within Quaker portfolio

Avyank Amar is starting a new position as marketing manager of Quaker Breakfast at PepsiCo Foods Canada.

He most recently worked as the CPG’s associate marketing manager for multicultural and innovation strategy.

Amar joined PepsiCo in 2020, and led a cross-functional team to build a multicultural product portfolio to be launched in 2021. The DeGroote MBA successfully leveraged “from home” and “from here” innovations to drive PepsiCo’s foray into the multicultural space.

National Bank names new brand activation and partnership director

Olivier Thibault is starting a new position as director of partnerships and sponsorships, brand activations at the National Bank of Canada.

He most recently worked as National Bank’s director of sponsorship activations and experiential marketing. Before joining the institution in 2021, he worked as manager of sponsorship and partnership (North America) at Guru Energy.

Call2Recycle names Disney vet its new trade marketing manager

Jo-Anne Wallace is starting a new position as trade marketing manager at Call2Recycle / Appel à Recycler Canada.

Wallace is a 27-year veteran of The Walt Disney Company, recently working as a marketing and communications manager – travel industry booking. Her duties included building marketing partnerships with Canadian trade partners such as Air Canada Vacations, Transat, Travel Brands, WestJet, Expedia and CAA by establishing awareness and communications plans.

She also previously managed Canadian strategic, creative and media development for Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line.

Air Canada adds to marketing team

Marika Bonetti is starting a new position as brand marketing manager at Air Canada. Previously, Bonetti worked as marketing manager for food waste brand Loop Mission handling digital and brand marketing, content strategy, SEM, trade and field marketing.

Bonetti is also a nine-year veteran of Red Bull, most recently working as the energy drink brand’s marketing specialist, events and partnerships.
