Labatt names new above core brand marketing head

Mike D’Agostini is starting a new position as head of above core brands at Labatt Breweries of Canada.

D’Agostini is leading full-funnel marketing for the Corona, Michelob Ultra, Stella Artois and Modelo brands nationally.

The 14-year company veteran previously led marketing for Labatt’s Beyond Beer portfolio including Mike’s, Nutrl, Cutwater, Palm Bay, SVNS hard 7-Up and Tempo. He was also Budweiser and Bud Light’s senior director of marketing, supporting campaigns like #TapeOutHate for the Hockey Diversity Alliance and Bud’s monument to women’s hockey.

Compass Group Canada staffs up marketing team

Amrit Singh is the new marketing manager for food-service company Compass Group Canada’s Chartwells division.

The move marks a return to Compass Group for Singh, who served as regional marketing manager, restaurant associates for the company, beginning in 2017.

She most recently worked as marketing manager for Restaurant Group-owned QSR, Barburrito.

Muzz promotes marketer

Nadia Rassoul has been promoted to marketing lead for Muzz, a dating and marriage app designed for Muslims in Canada.

Rassoul has been tasked to direct brand strategy and growth initiatives and joined the app this spring as a marketing specialist.

Rassoul is founder and CEO of Noomi, a lifestyle brand that showcases the beauty and heritage of Middle Eastern culture. She is a also former digital marketing and communications coordinator for Toronto Metropolitan University’s startup community, The DMZ.

University of Toronto Phys Ed faculty makes moves

Sharon Ng-Morga has been promoted to director of brand strategy and marketing for the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto. She previously worked as marketing communications officer for the faculty.

Prior to joining the U of T, Ng-Morga was senior marketing communications manager at Telus and senior marketing manager for Toronto publisher, Nelson Education.

Cargill makes Canadian promotion

Paul Robert Webster has been promoted to customer marketing lead Canada for food and agricultural company Cargill.

He will be responsible for crafting and executing an integrated, customer-driven strategy leveraging the house of Cargill to drive profitable growth, customer loyalty and value creation. Webster began his career at Cargill in 2012 as a marketing generalist.
