Kraft Heinz hires Todd Kaplan as CMO for North America

Kraft Heinz has named a new chief marketing officer for its North America business, tapping Todd Kaplan for the role.

Kaplan will lead marketing across the company’s North American food and beverage portfolio that includes brands like Heinz, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Oscar Mayer, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Lunchables, Capri-Sun, Maxwell House, Jell-O, Kool-Aid, Cool Whip and more.

“I look forward to leading the team to unleash the potential of these incredible brands through elevated creativity, a deeper connection to culture, and best in class marketing, media and digital capabilities that can fuel the company’s next wave of growth.”

Kaplan will also play a role working on Kraft Heinz’s joint ventures with NotCo and Just Spices, and oversee the company’s in-house agency The Kitchen.

Prior to his new role, Kaplan worked at PepsiCo for more than 17 years, capping off his long stint with the company with more than two years as CMO of Pepsi.

Canada Goose names Alfredo Tan as chief digital and information officer

Alfredo Tan, a C-suite executive whose experience has taken him from Rogers to Loblaw and EY, has landed a new role as chief digital and information officer for Canada Goose.

The job will call on Tan to oversee strategy, implementation and adoption of all consumer-facing digital platforms for Canada Goose. He’ll lead the brand’s teams responsible for developing the company’s digital roadmap across digital sales channels, as well as its digital media and marketing, and consumer insights teams.

Tan will also be responsible for Canada Goose’s future data and AI strategy, overseeing how it can enhance the company’s commercial and enterprise performance.

Prior to his new role, Tan worked as senior vice president and managing director for Advance, a division of Loblaw that’s designed for advertisers navigating retail media. He’s also worked in advisor roles for EY, Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Apollo Global Management, as SVP of strategy, data and digital products for Rogers, and as CMO And chief digital and innovation officer for WestJet. Tan also worked at Facebook for eight years from 2009 to 2017 as group director of global marketing solution.

“Alfredo brings significant global experience and a proven track-record harnessing the power of technology to transform consumer experiences and deliver results,” Canada Goose chairman and CEO Dani Reiss said in a statement about the hiring.

“I am confident in Alfredo’s abilities to accelerate our organization’s digital capabilities, drive operating efficiencies across the value chain, and enhance our customers’ omnichannel shopping experience.”

Tan will officially take on the job as of Aug. 7. He takes over for Matt Blonder, who will be departing the company.
