Tim Hortons makes senior digital team promotion
Restaurant Brands International company Tim Hortons Canada has promoted Zahra Lakhani (pictured above) to vice president of digital and analytics.
Lakhani was most recently the QSR’s senior director of digital and loyalty analytics and personalization, a position she held for two years. Prior to that, Lakhani worked as head of format innovation, leading strategic initiatives to redefine the guest experience in-restaurant and to create new pathways for digital interaction.
Before joining Tim Hortons, she held management strategy roles as a seven-year veteran of Starwood Hotels.
MLSE names new partnership development director
Alex Maryuen is the new director of partnership development at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE).
Maryuen is a former director of corporate partnerships with indie commercial agency Canadian Soccer Business. On the agency side, he worked as manager of business development with Toronto digital and experiential agency RevXM.
University of Manitoba promotes senior marketer
Susan Mainella is being promoted to the position of associate vice president of marketing and communications at the University of Manitoba.
Mainella is the Winnipeg school’s former executive director of marketing and senior director of major gifts. She is also a nearly 11-year veteran of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), working most recently the technical institution’s director of communications.
NAIT staffs up its marketing team
Michael Blanchard is starting a new position as senior marketing strategist at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). Blanchard recently worked as marketing manager with Bis Software Safety. On the agency side, he worked for Monolith Digital handling marketing and business development duties for the Edmonton shop.
Edmonton biz improvement group adds marketer
Quinn Phillips is starting a new position as director of marketing and communications at the Edmonton Downtown Business Association. Phillips, a longtime reporter with Global TV Edmonton, most recently worked as strategic communications manager for Explore Edmonton, the city’s DMO.
Oakberry staffs up its Canadian marketing
Nina Travassos is starting a new position as director of marketing for Oakberry Açaí Western Canada.
The Brazil-based QSR, whose Western franchise rights were acquired by Snowbank, operates 600 stores in 35 countries and has 15 Canadian locations with plans for more. Travassos recently worked as marketing and communications specialist with Burnaby-based ABC Recycling.
