Engine powers up its senior leadership
New York, Vancouver and Toronto-based consultancy Engine Digital has bolstered its senior leadership with a hire and a promotion.
Marie Gosal (pictured above right) will take on the executive design director role based out of Vancouver. She will partner with Laura Falconer (pictured above left), also in Vancouver, in her new role as executive strategy director, co-leading a unified strategy and design team.
Gosal, who was previously head of design at Metalab and creative director at lululemon will be responsible for leading the agency’s design practice, evolving its processes and methods, spanning client engagements including Autodesk, TeamViewer, Blueair (Unilever) and Pernod Ricard.
Following four years at the agency and having led engagements spanning e-commerce and product design, Falconer will take on the role of executive strategy director, leading a team that includes research, product design, content strategy, experience design and service design. Both posts will be based in the agency’s Vancouver studio.
As part of this new structure, the agency has also promoted Eugene Huh to principal strategist in Toronto. He will be responsible for guiding the agency’s new ventures, innovation and research work. He has led strategy engagements with Mastercard, Autodesk, HP and Huawei, and supported partner engagements with Schneider Electric, CVS Health and Pfizer.
Publicis Canada adds ACD, and Hawkeye hires senior art director
Steven Tiao is starting a new position as associate creative director at Publicis Canada.
Tiao most recently worked as ACD with King Ursa, working on brands like The Beer Store, Zabiha Halal and Maple Lodge Farms. The nearly three-year King Ursa vet started with the shop as its senior art director, a role he also held at The &Partnership, where he handled Telus, Manulife and Sleeman account work. Tiao is also a former art director with Leo Burnett and Juniper Park\TBWA Toronto.
Hawkeye Canada, a Publicis agency, also hired a new senior art director in Katie Yep.
Yep previously worked as art director with Mark IV, working on a client roster that included PepsiCo and Starbucks. Brand-side, Yep was senior graphic designer art direction, photography + video for Loblaw, and integrated designer for Capital One.
FCB Canada promotes senior art director to ACD
Eric Fern Carriere is being promoted to associate creative director at FCB Canada.
Carriere is the shop’s senior art director, working on a client roster that includes BMO, Burt’s Bees Canada, Hershey and The Advertising & Design Club of Canada. He also held art director posts with Open and Grey Group, working on such accounts as Food Basics, Canadian Blood Services, Metrolinx and Polident.
Ray adds ACD
Danica Enns is starting a new position as associate creative director at Ray Creative Agency. She most recently held that title at Draftline YYZ, Labatt’s in-house social agency.
Prior to joining the brewer, Enns was an ACD for OneMethod, where she worked for nearly 10 years.
In the capacity of art director for OneMethod, Enns worked on brands such as Aero, Perrier, Tylenol and Kijiji.
