Marketers on the Move: Matthew Dicker departs Scotiabank

Scotiabank senior manager of brand sponsorship moves on

After seven years at Scotiabank, Matthew Dicker (pictured right) is moving on.

For the last two and a half years, Dicker was responsible for the management of Scotiabank’s sponsorship brand strategy, including the hockey, arts, football and golf portfolios.

He led the creation of the bank’s “Hockey for All” platform to make fandom more accessible, creating the Hockey Jersey book. He also helped launch Scotiabank’s golf sponsorship portfolio, and assisted with amplifying support of the arts community.

Before joining Scotiabank, Dicker held agency-side roles with Bensimon Byrne and Narrative PR.

Calgary Economic Development adds senior marketer

Natasha Roberts is starting a new position as marketing director at Calgary Economic Development, which helped to launch a new slogan and a new visual identity for the City of Calgary earlier this year, under the phrase “Blue Sky City.”

Roberts held senior marketing roles with Calgary’s Xpan Interactive, Marriott Hotels and Smart Technologies.

OTIP promotes marketer

Maria Ruffini has been promoted to marketing director at Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP). Ruffini most recently worked as the organization’s marketing manager.

Before joining OTIP, she held insurance-related marketing manager roles for RBC, Manulife Financial and Sun Life Financial.

L’Oréal makes promotion

Paola Lema has moved from group marketing manager for Lancôme, to national key account manager for parent company L’Oréal. She has held senior marketing manager roles for designer fragrances and skincare, joining the Montreal office of the beauty brand in 2014.

Vault opens up new marketer role

Jake Letwin is the new growth marketing manager for banking platform, Vault. He held the same title with Ribbon, and prior to that, he was marketing lead for software company Luxolis. Letwin also spent more than three years as a brand manager for Red Bull.

Robert Half promotes communications manager

Jillian Levick has been promoted to senior public relations and communications manager for Canada at Robert Half. Levick previously held the role of PR manager, joining the professional talent solutions company in 2022.

Prior to her new role, Levick was senior publicist with Simon & Schuster Canada, a role she held for more than three years.
