Guru names CPG vet its head marketer
Challenger energy drink brand Guru Organic Energy has named Shingly Lee as its VP of marketing.
The role will call on Lee to oversee brand management, brand strategy, consumer learning, brand and product marketing, integrated GTM, influencer, partnerships, digital marketing, experiential activations, community, creative studio, driving growth to e-comm/DTC and shopper marketing.
Lee most recently served as head of marketing and brand at the plant-based company Alpha Foods, and previously worked at Danone on the plant-based protein Vega, as brand manager for Vega North America.
At Kraft Heinz, she was manager, category advisory for Federated Co-Op, Overwaitea Food Group, Amazon, Costco Canada and Metro. She also held the title of associate brand manager for Philadelphia cream cheese.
BFL Canada adds to its senior marketing leadership
Mia Merolla is starting a new position as vice president of marketing at risk management and insurance brokerage, BFL Canada.
Merolla is a more than 12-year veteran of insurer, Hub International, most recently the company’s assistant vice president of marketing.
Merck Canada names senior vaccine marketer
Audrey Murat has been promoted to associate director of vaccines marketing at Merck Canada. Murat was recently the pharma company’s national brand manager for HPV vaccines, leading the national brand strategy.
Prior to joining Merck, Murat was associate legacy product and brand manager for Eli Lilly Canada, based in Toronto.
Compass Group makes marketing promotion
Lara Buys is starting a new position as regional marketing manager of Eastern Canada at food service and support services provider, Compass Group Canada.
Buys recently worked as marketing student engagement manager, overseeing marketing execution and student engagement for food service providers at two universities in Atlantic Canada.
Agency-side, Buys worked as an account manager with M&C Saatchi Abel in Cape Town, South Africa.
