Popeyes has unveiled new leadership of its marketing team in Canada and the U.S., with the QSR brand bringing Bart LaCount aboard as its new chief marketing officer.
LaCount will lead the brand’s marketing efforts, with a focus on growing traffic and accelerating sales growth as part of the brand’s “Easy to Love” platform. The brand’s previous CMO, Jeff Klein, was named president of Popeyes US and Canada in March.
The new CMO joins Popeyes from PepsiCo where he worked as vice president of international beverages marketing, leading portfolios in international markets for brands like Gatorade and Sting.
“Bart brings an incredibly well-rounded marketing background to this role as we look to deepen brand relevance in communities where we are loved and expand relevance where Popeyes should be better known – all as part of the strategic plan built with and endorsed by our franchisees.” Klein said in a press release announcing the news.
LaCount worked for PepsiCo in a variety of roles for nearly two decades. Prior to this, he spent five years working in various marketing positions for Ford Motor Company.
The QSR also announced it’s promoted Matt Rubin as chief digital officer in the U.S. and Canada. Rubin will oversee the brand’s digital and technology teams, guiding its digital growth, and focused on improving the guest experience online.
