Burger King Canada hires new marketing director

Grace Yue (pictured) is starting a new position as director of marketing at Burger King Canada.

Yue is a nearly four-and-a-half-year veteran of Popeyes, starting at the QSR in 2020 as a senior marketing manager before leading its marketing in the director role.

Prior to Popeyes, Yue was director of product management for Flexiti and client marketing manager of retail and B2B for LoyaltyOne. In the latter role, she developed and managed the launch strategy for two BMO Air Miles Business Mastercard products.

Last year, Burger King Canada unveiled its “you rule” positioning, backed by a viral jingle. The RBI-owned brand named Broken Heart Love Affair its AOR in December.

DFO makes two marketing promotions

Julieta Mandelbaum has been promoted to marketing director of strategy and consumer communications at Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO). Most recently, she was the DFO’s senior marketing manager for the Gen Z lifestyle brand MilkUP.

Laura Bodini has been promoted to manager of Dairy Producers Committees programs and marketing. She was recently DFO’s marketing coordinator.

WestJet vet moves on

Morgan Bell, WestJet’s manager of media and PR, is joining strategic advisory consultancy Teneo in Calgary, as its senior VP of corporate communications.

Bell has spent nearly seven years with the airline, where she was a corporate spokesperson managing XM, media relations and external comms, among other PR duties.

Before joining WestJet, Bell was Hockey Canada’s manager of communications.

Kensington Tours makes a promotion in its marketing team

Michael Breen has been promoted to senior director of brand for the luxury tour operator, which offers tailored private-guided travel experiences. Breen was named brand director in the fall of 2023.

Along with his new role, Breen is also the managing director for Black_ Consultancy. Previously, he was the director of eComm and growth for plant-based beverage brand, Greenhouse.

World Vision Canada names new head of sports partnerships

Matt Heeley is the new head of sports partnerships with World Vision Canada.

Heeley recently worked as director of sales and marketing for Brew Culture, and manager of global partnerships for MLSE. Agency-side, Heeley spent six years at PhD Canada, managing brand accounts such as Honda Acura, Scotiabank and Home Hardware.

Keurig Dr Pepper adds brand PR and influencer associate manager

Felix Lorrain-Hamel is starting a new position as associate manager of brand PR and influencer marketing, at Keurig Dr Pepper Canada. Lorrain-Hamel previously worked as influencer marketing agent for Montreal’s Productions J.

Agency-side, Lorrain-Hamel has also held PR account manager roles with Strategic Objectives and 1Milk2Sugars.

Calgary Sports and Entertainment adds a brand marketer

Tyler Tendeck is starting a new position as brand marketing specialist at Flames owner, Calgary Sports and Entertainment.

For three years, Tendeck was performance marketing specialist with Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Before joining SAIT, he was a media specialist with Hitachi Solutions Canada.
