FleishmanHillard shakes up top leadership

Omnicom PR Group shop FleishmanHillard has named J.J. Carter president and CEO, effective Oct. 1.

Carter, the PR giant’s current global chief operating officer and president for the Americas, succeeds John Saunders, who will take on the role of chairman for FleishmanHillard.

Carter has been with FleishmanHillard since 2005 and has held a variety of key leadership roles, including overseeing the agency’s East and West regions in the U.S. along with Canada and Mexico.

Carter was named the agency’s global chief operating officer and Americas president in 2016.

Saunders was named president and CEO in 2015 after leading FleishmanHillard’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Saunders’ relationship with FleishmanHillard began more than 37 years ago, when the comms agency he founded in Ireland became an affiliate.

In Canada, FleishmanHillard has supported campaign work for Mars’ Ben’s Original, Lactalis yogurt, Astro, eyewear chain Specsavers and Recipe Unlimited casual dining chain Montana’s.

This summer, DDB Canada, BBDO Canada and Juniper Park\TBWA united to form Omnicom Advertising Group Canada.

Omnicom is also home to PR shops Ketchum and Porter Novelli.

Environics names new chief product officer

Data, analytics and marketing services company, Environics Analytics, is promoting Teresa Sinopoli to chief product officer. With more than 20 years of experience in geodemography, marketing analytics and GIS, Sinopoli has been instrumental in leading the development of numerous products from ideation through to execution and implementation, the company says.

Based out of the company’s GTA headquarters, Sinopoli was most recently senior vice president of product management and platform innovation.

“She is the first woman to lead our product management team – and has the confidence of everyone as she takes on this crucial role,” says Jan Kestle, Environics Analytics’ president and CEO.
