Black Rock Marketing Group finds new owner
Hamilton consultancy and development firm Hover Group has acquired Toronto’s Black Rock Marketing Group, a move which also marks the retirement of the latter’s founding partner, Tim Fallis.
The acquisition brings Black Rock’s experience in traditional shopper marketing together with Hover Group’s expertise in tech-driven innovation, loyalty programs, and data analytics. Black Rock Marketing Group recently worked with Keurig Dr Pepper’s Mott’s Clamato on a national sampling program, as well as a contest for Tetley Tea and website management for beverage brand Rubicon Drinks.
“We see a perfect fit for the pedigree and reputation of agencies like Black Rock, merged with our technology and innovation experience,” Matthew Hollingshead, Hover Group partner, tells strategy. “There is a sea change happening in the industry and we feel poised to effectively bring the legacy and new worlds together.”
Hollingshead added that Hover Group is looking to make similar acquisitions in the near future to broaden its offerings.
M&H wins two major mandates
M&H has won creative production contracts for Hydro-Québec and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
For Hydro-Québec, the indie creative production studio is now in charge of graphic design and studio production mandates.
For Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), M&H will support its in-house studio on graphic design and production of a range of marketing materials.
Particular emphasis will be placed on meeting accessibility requirements and compliance with current WCAG 2.2 standards, ensuring that products and services are accessible to all, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments.
“We are truly pleased to be contributing to the growth of these two prestigious entities through unique innovative approaches and recognized expertise,” says Jean-Philippe Samson, director of business development.
