Toronto’s WBNA team names Whitney Bell as its new CMO

Ex-Clutch and Lyft senior marketing vet Whitney Bell has been named chief marketing officer for Toronto’s new WNBA team.

In her role as CMO with the women’s professional basketball team, Bell will oversee all aspects of the team’s external brand management, with a particular focus on the upcoming launch of the new logo, name and identity later this year.

Bell brings more than 16 years of experience in creating and cultivating high-profile brands. She has been VP of marketing for online car retailer Clutch and head of marketing for U.S.-based rideshare company Lyft. At Unilever, in the role of senior brand leader, she led a rebrand of the Axe deodorant business.

Her expertise spans a diverse range of industries, from tech startups to CPGs.

Hyundai adds a senior marketer

Julia Lamanna is Hyundai Canada’s new senior manager of brand communications.

She was recently Dyson’s marketing manager for beauty and B2B. Prior to joining Dyson, Lamanna was a digital marketing specialist with BMW, where she executed multimedia campaigns, including digital, social, POS and CRM initiatives.

Labatt promotes brand activation manager

Jessalyn Naranjo (Taylor) is starting a new role as national assistant brand activation manager at Labatt Breweries of Canada for Mike’s and Palm Bay.

Naranjo held the role of assistant trade marketing manager for more than four years. She began her career with the brewery as social media and marketing coordinator for Mike’s Hard.

Universal Music adds account manager for brand partnerships

Emma Greer is Universal Music Canada’s new account manager for brand partnerships.

Greer is a more than eight year veteran of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), most recently holding the position of coordinator of global partnerships.
