Richmond Day names and ECD
Ex-Salt XC ECD Michael Katzikowski (pictured above) is now executive creative director of Richmond Day.
Katzikowski has been lead creative for key shop clients like BMW Canada, whose AOR business Richmond Day secured earlier this year, MINI Canada, LG and Shoppers Wellwise.
Prior to joining Salt XC, he was VP and creative director at McCann Canada, where he was lead creative for Chevrolet Canada. Katzikowski also worked on automotive brands like Infiniti, Nissan, BMW, BRP and Mercedes Benz.
Katzikowski, who is a strategy awards judge, got his start in senior art director roles at FCB Global and BBDO Canada.
Sid Lee veteran new group strategy director, Toronto Wieden+Kennedy office
Elliott Altilia is taking on the role of group strategy director at Wieden+Kennedy.
Altilia is a nearly 10-year veteran of Sid Lee, most recently the shop’s VP of strategy.
Before rejoining the agency, Altilia was group strategy director and head of strategy for Mint.
Previously, as director of strategy for Sid Lee U.S., he was strategic lead for Dos Equis portfolio rebrand and campaigns, and as director of strategy for Sid Lee Toronto, he was the strategic lead for Sid Lee’s MolsonCoors portfolio.
NXSTAR promotes CD
Montréal digital shop NXSTAR has promoted Justin Barry Mahoney to creative director.
Mahoney was social media manager with BeaverTails, a role he held for more than three years. He is also a former web copywriter for Yellow Pages.
NXSTAR has worked with clients like insurer BFL Canada, Keurig, Van Houtte Coffee and National Theatre School of Canada.
