KFC Canada appoints new president
KFC Canada has named Ryan Koon as the company’s new president and GM.
Koon has held leadership roles in financial planning and development during his 12 years with the brand and will build on the work that former GM Catherine Tan developed in the Canadian market.
Koon spearheaded the development of new and existing restaurant and asset design for KFC U.S. Under his leadership, KFC Canada will leverage his development experience to transform its Canadian presence by refreshing its retail footprint and expanding into urban cores. This strategy includes updating its 642 existing restaurants and increasing its presence in high-density areas. In Quebec, KFC Canada will focus on revitalizing its current restaurants while targeting 100 new locations in the coming years.
“[His] leadership style and his deep expertise and tenure with KFC and Yum! International make him an ideal fit for the Canadian market,” says Katherine Bond-Debicki, chief marketing officer and chief digital officer for KFC Canada.

In addition to her work at True Patriot Love, Barker also played a key role as the interim head of marketing and communications for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.
