McCann Worldgroup has hired Britt Nolan to take on the new role of chief creative officer of McCann Worldgroup for North America. Most recently, Nolan was the president and CCO of Leo Burnett Chicago.

Nolan will report to Javier Campopiano, global chief creative officer of McCann Worldgroup and McCann, and he will work directly with the network’s creative leadership in the U.S. and Canada.

As the creative anchor across key clients for the region, Nolan will also partner with Stephanie Nerlich, president of McCann Worldgroup for the Americas and global president of McCann, to spearhead its campaign work.

Key to this effort will be fostering collaboration across the network’s capabilities and agencies across strategy, design, commerce, branding and production, according to the release.

Most recently president and CCO of Leo Burnett Chicago, Nolan’s work has won Grand Prix or Best in Show awards at major international shows, including Cannes, as well as recognition from the Effies, D&AD, ADC, One Show, Clio Awards and London International Awards.

His creative milestones include launching Samsung’s “Do What You Can’t” platform and “Chill” for Coors Light. He also led the creation of a life-size and Airbnb-rentable replica of Vincent Van Gogh’s “The Bedroom” for the Art Institute of Chicago.

Last week, McCann Worldgroup Canada named Jordan Doucette CCO replacing Ian Mackenzie, who serves as McCann Worldgroup’s global AI creative lead. In 2018, Doucette, in an EVP/ECD capacity, reported to Nolan at Leo Burnett Chicago, where she handled Kellogg’s account, overseeing creative product for the agency’s work on the CPG’s brands across the U.S.

The McCann Worldgroup network was also recently awarded global creative responsibilities for PwC and named global agency of record for Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
