The Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C) announced the appointment of Thomas Lecordier as president and CEO and Stéphane Mailhiot as board chairman at its annual general assembly in Montreal on Wednesday. Lecordier will officially assume his duties on Dec. 2.
“As an industry spokesperson, I wish to make a real difference and give back to a community that has given me so much,” Lecordier said in a press release announcing his appointment.
Lecordier has experience in commercial and client management within the WPP and Publicis Groupe networks, and has also worked with agencies such as Tank/Grey, Publicis, Ogilvy and Leo Burnett. He developed his career in Quebec, held strategic positions in Paris and New York, and most recently completed the Artificial Intelligence for Growth certificate from the Kellogg School of Management.
In July, A2C’s former president and CEO Dominique Villeneuve stepped down after 16 years.
“We took the necessary time to find the ideal candidate, and we are convinced that Thomas will greatly contribute to the promotion and defense of our sector,” Mailhiot said. “It’s excellent news for the agencies.”
