Parkland names former Loblaw lead its new creative director

Dave Wotherspoon is the new creative director for fuel distributor and convenience store operator Parkland which includes both Esso and Ultramar.

Wotherspoon was previously creative lead for Kijiji Canada, and is a nearly 25-year veteran of Loblaw, most recently serving as the grocer’s senior director of creative, content and social media.

In 2021, he helped establish the in-house creative team, Loblaw Agency.

Sherwin-Williams promotes marketer

Micah DePeuter is starting a new position as senior director of marketing at Sherwin-Williams.

The longtime veteran of the paint and coatings company was recently metro district manager for Toronto. DePeuter began his nearly 20-year Sherwin-Williams career as an assistant manager.

Former Too Good To Go marketing manager joins SC Johnson

Erica Harper is starting a new position as senior associate of customer marketing at SC Johnson Lifestyle Brands.

For three-and-a-half years, Harper worked for food waste app, Too Good To Go, most recently as was B2C marketing manager. She was also a sustainability communications specialist at Brock University.

Senior Manitoba DMO marketer steps aside

Jillian Recksiedler, senior marketing specialist with Travel Manitoba, is stepping away after 16 years supporting organization initiatives.

Joining the DMO in 2009 as a media relation specialist, she moved through the ranks, eventually becoming senior marketing specialist in 2016, assisting, developing and executing Travel Manitoba’s annual content marketing strategy, editorial vision and travel media outreach. In the role, she also supported domestic and international tourism marketing campaigns through Destination Canada, third-party publishers and Travel Manitoba’s digital channels.

YMCA BC adds to its marketing team

Larissa Chan is new manager of marketing, government relations and strategy at YMCA BC.

In the role, she is tasked with advancing the organization’s goals by collaborating across teams, fostering partnerships and contributing to strategies that enhance the Y’s impact and engagement with communities.

Chan is a former management consultant for KPMG Canada, based in Vancouver.

YEG adds veteran West Edmonton Mall marketer

Paul Boumoussa is starting a new role as marketing specialist at Edmonton International Airport (YEG).

The more than 12-year veteran of West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel, recently served as marketing coordinator, developing and executing marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and drive customer engagement.
