Marketers on the Move: Corby names new VP of marketing

Corby picks former Lindt & Sprüngli VP to head its marketing

Corby Spirit and Wine has named Maura Cowan vice president of marketing.

She will be reporting to Nicolas Krantz, president and chief executive officer of Corby.

In her role, which takes effect Jan. 6, Cowan will lead Corby’s marketing organization and collaborate with the executive team for brands such as J.P. Wiser’s, Polar Ice Vodka, Absolut, Jameson Whiskey and The Glenlivet, and expand the company’s market presence.

Cowan joins Corby from Lindt & Sprüngli Canada Inc., where she served as vice president of marketing.

With more than 20 years of experience, Cowan also recently led Kellogg marketing across the snacking and frozen portfolio with full P&L category responsibility. This included developing a three-year growth strategy and commercialization of all brand innovation and programming for brands such as Pringles, Cheez-It Crackers and Eggo Waffles.

Prior to joining Kellogg, she was marketing director with Unilever.

This year, Cowan oversaw a Lindt AR bunny activation in advance of the Eastern season.

Cannabis society names CMO

Honda Canada makes moves

Gurvir Sahota is starting a new position as manager of marketing and media at Honda Canada. Sahota, a nearly 18-year automaker veteran, was recently supervisor of digital marketing and media at Honda.

In that role, he was responsible for liaisons with partner agencies on overall media strategies for traditional and digital media channels. He has also presented and tracked budgets for Honda, Acura and Powersports brands.

Canadian Blood Services names a brand manager

Abby McIntyre is the new brand manager with Canadian Blood Services.

Before joining Canadian Blood Services, she was director of communications and manager, communications, for Carleton University, where she led a team specializing in media, events, content, and research communications.

McIntyre is also a longtime marketing communications manager for Brockville General Hospital.
